Locations

We were advised at the end of our first pitch to film in a forest as many of our peers had linked the dystopian genre with the location of a forest. Although we had planned to film it inside in an abandoned warehouse however we realised any location that was desolate would work with our piece.

This empty warehouse was an idea to use before the idea of the forest. The warehouse provides a sterile looking envrironment that would reinforce the dystopian idea. However as our idea developed and altered we realised that the use of a sterile atmosphere such as the Dauntless base in Divergent could be a place were the government could be hunting down the protagonist. However this would soon be redesogned to be a retail store and we did not have space within our two minutes for this idea however for the full movie idea this location would have been ideal

Wick Woodland
Another group had used wick woodland for their prelim task and we had evidence of what the small forest looked like as well as what kind of footage and what type of shots they had gotten in result.
The benefits from filing in Wick woodland is that it is in Hackney and we wouldn't have to travel a great distance to film. Generally it is more convenient if we have forgotten equipment or of the weather changes and we have to reschedule.

Underneath the East Cross Route, Hackney Wick
Whilst passing through the area on our way to wick woodland we discovered this alleyway/ skater spot which seemed very dystopian and almost post apocalyptic thus we decided to take some test shots and we decided to stay and film a majority of the final piece there. There seemed to be two old chairs left behind as garbage that we used a sprops to suggest the internal insanity that the governement had caused after being chased down by another outlaw of this future society. So this unexpicted location turned out to be a key asset in our piece and had reflected all the influences i had gained from my film and tv research
