We had been influenced by India Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark for our Action and Adventure genre. This clip was able to influence me in all four micro elements.

The use of a familiar and thrilling tune reinforces the adventurous and thrilling feeling the audience expects from an Indiana Jones movie. The theme song also matches with this classic piece as it reinforces all the action going on in the piece by being upbeat and thrilling.

The camera angles and distances also allows the audience to receive a feeling of Action and Adventure. The Adventure aspect is shown through this shot of Jones looking at the idol with want even though retrieving it will be extremely dangerous. The result of that adventure is action. The action is shown through Jones running away from death by a few seconds - during this time the theme music is playing - both elements piece together to make the genre work well and tell the story well to the audience.

It also inspired us to try more upbeat music for our own piece to emphasise a sense of action and adventure and experiment using Garage Band.

I used the shots from Marvel movies to influence me when thinking about Camera angles and distances. Marvel movies are based on the superhero's and villains from the comics, they also have to concentrate on thrilling the audience whilst giving the audience an insight on each of the characters so that they can meet the standard the dedicated comic book readers are hoping for. Our piece has some of the ideas used in Marvel films seeing as we have a villain type character and a protagonist, as well as that, we also have a fair bit of action and so I discovered the shots that Marvel use enable them to get clear shots whilst having action and telling the story fluently.

I focused on using the Avengers. From the images above you can see many of the shots are from the Avengers and are shots were there is some action taking place. Whereas The Extreme close up of Magneto (Michael Fassbender) is showing his emotions and making him seem more of a villain as he is able to kill without a second thought. Due to our final piece only being 2 minutes it is hard to convey the plot without it seeming as if it was a trailer and so the effective use of extreme close ups and close ups are able to suggest emotion as well as some

as idea if the chracter is a protagonist, the good guy or the bad guy or maybe if it isnt so simple and the character is insane which is conveyed by a montone facial expression .

The following shot allows the audience to see the struggle the characters are going through clearly whilst also not losing track of the plot with aimless running or confusion between who is being chased and who is chasing. The use of Track and Dolly is seen to be essential when filming in a continuous shot as other microelements are dependent on Camera and how non-diegetic sound will be implemented in the shot after. For example, the sound of the track and dolly shot is of heavy breathing and branches breaking which wouldn't be as effective to the scene if it was not continuous.

The wind rushing through is suggesting a sense of freedom and thrill as he can be reckless and at one with the sky without having to worry about any problems he has to face. The shout of glee also shows him to have lost all boundaries restricting him, he can shout at the skies and no one can say anything, the audience feeling thrill through the joy he feels

The dark setting of the forest and the low lighting presents action through the use of fear. This shot is taken from the first half of the last movie in the sequel and so a majority of the audience hacve grown up watching  these heroin's win and survive through the worst and so the negative atmosphere of this scene creates a new scense of Action.

Camera/ Mise en scene/ Sound/ Editing

In the prisoner of Azkaban, the lighting is much brighter showing the new brilliant experience he is able to have, the slow zoom from a medium long shot to a close-up presents the joy and glee he is experiencing after having such a traumatic childhood. Thrill here is presented through the freedom he is given, the long shot shows the mountains and the river separating him from the things that hurt him and instead he is given a calming view. The audience is reminded of his traumatic life as the wind blows and reveals his lightning scar but with his arms wide open and the long take, there are no cuts to stop him from living this one golden moment.
